In industrial processes where accurate and reliable DC power is essential, the right rectifier can make a significant difference. The POWERTRON IGBT Electroplating Rectifier is an intelligent high-frequency DC rectifier designed to provide controlled power output with convenient monitoring and setting options through an HMI-based control system.
Manufactured by POWERTRON India Private Limited, the rectifier is designed for industrial environments and supports applications across sectors such as electroplating, metal processing, cathodic protection, automation, power transmission and more.
Intelligent HMI-Based Operation
One of the key features of the POWERTRON DC Rectifier is its HMI remote operation system. The HMI provides operators with access to important rectifier parameters and controls from a user-friendly interface.
After connecting the three-phase power supply and control panel, operators can use the HMI to start and stop the rectifier, select operating modes and adjust required values.
The interface displays important operating information such as:
- DC voltage
- DC current
- Power in kW
- Ampere-hour
- Timer
- Run time
- Rectifier status
This allows operators to monitor the rectifier’s operation from a centralized display.
Flexible CC and CV Operating Modes
The POWERTRON rectifier allows users to select between Constant Current (CC) and Constant Voltage (CV) modes depending on the required operating condition.
Through the HMI, users can select the required mode and set the desired output value. The output can then be adjusted precisely using the available controls.
This flexibility makes the rectifier suitable for applications where controlled voltage or current output is important.
Timer Function for Controlled Operation
The built-in timer function provides additional control over rectifier operation. Operators can enable or disable the timer and set the required duration in hours, minutes and seconds.
This can help automate operating cycles where the rectifier needs to run for a predetermined period.
The system also provides an Ampere-Hour setting, allowing the required value to be configured through the HMI.
Real-Time Monitoring and Data Recording
Monitoring operating parameters is an important part of industrial power management. The POWERTRON HMI includes a graph function that allows users to observe a live graph of power, current and voltage.
The system also provides recording functions for voltage and current over time. This gives operators a convenient way to review operating information.
A dedicated history function records rectifier trips along with their occurrence time and alarm information, helping operators understand previous interruptions and operating events.
Profile Mode for Automated Cycles
For applications requiring multiple operating stages, the rectifier provides a Profile Mode.
Users can configure profile cycles by setting:
- Operating mode
- Current or voltage
- Hour
- Minute
- Second
- Delay between cycles
Once the profile is configured, the rectifier can perform the programmed sequence automatically according to the preset values.
The system also provides an option related to restarting the profile after a main power failure, allowing the operator to choose whether to continue from the last profile or start from the first cycle.
Multiple Control Modes
The HMI’s mode selection settings provide several operating options, including:
- Manual
- 0–10 V
- 4–20 mA
- Profile
- Remote On/Off
These options provide flexibility for different control requirements and integration scenarios.
Configurable Protection and Control Parameters
The rectifier’s settings interface includes parameters such as CT ratio, maximum current, maximum voltage and slew rate for soft start.
According to the operating manual, these settings are factory-configured and protected by password access.
The soft-start slew-rate setting can help control how the output reaches its operating level, depending on the configured system parameters.
Designed for Diverse Industrial Applications
The POWERTRON IGBT Electroplating Rectifier is presented for use across a broad range of industries and applications.
The applications listed in the manual include:
- Mining and cement

Installation Considerations
Correct installation is important for safe and reliable rectifier operation. The POWERTRON manual provides several installation guidelines.
The system should use an input cable selected according to the rectifier capacity, while the DC output should be connected to the rectified load through an appropriately rated copper or aluminium busbar.
The manual also recommends placing the rectifier at least 5 feet away from the load, at an appropriate height, with a separate room being preferable. Fresh-air ventilation should also be ensured.
The input supply should be a three-phase 415 V AC supply with ±15% tolerance, and proper earthing must be connected to the rectifier.
A Flexible Power Conversion Solution
The POWERTRON IGBT Electroplating Rectifier combines high-frequency rectification with HMI-based monitoring and control. Features such as CC/CV operation, timer control, profile programming, real-time monitoring, data recording and trip history provide operators with greater control over industrial DC power applications.
With applications spanning metal processing, cathodic protection, transportation, energy, telecommunications, testing and other industrial sectors, the POWERTRON rectifier is designed as a flexible solution for controlled DC power requirements.
