Function & Application
Catalyst viscosifiers are engineered for water-based drilling and completion fluids, providing dependable rheology control for stable operations. They help build and maintain the required viscosity, improve cuttings transport and suspension, and enhance thixotropic behavior to ensure smooth pumping and strong gel strength when static. Depending on the product, they may also deliver added benefits such as filtration control, shale inhibition, and clay stabilization, offering a versatile solution suited to a wide range of drilling conditions.

- High-Yield & Treated Bentonite Grades
CT-BENTO-S9 – Oil Drilling API Grade Bentonite: High-yield natural sodium montmorillonite, drilling-grade bentonite conforming to API 13A Section 9, used to provide reliable base viscosity in water-based drilling muds.
CT HS300-GEL – High Swell Gel: High-yield, high-swelling bentonite gel with strong thixotropic and suspension properties. Offers very low filtrate loss, helps slurry penetrate cleavages and cracks, clog pores and develop good suspensions, and stabilizes excavations in highly sandy and adverse conditions.
CT-BENTO-S11 – Bentonite API 13A Section 11 / OCMA Grade: Treated premium bentonite meeting API 13A Section 11 / OCMA specification, used as an efficient viscosifier and gelling agent in water-based drilling fluids.
CT-BENTO-S10 – Non-Treated Bentonite Clay: Natural sodium bentonite conforming to API 13A Section 10, functioning as a viscosifier and filtration-control agent in water-based mud systems.
- Polymeric & Cellulosic Viscosifiers
CT-POLYVIS – High Temperature WBM Viscosifier: High-viscosity, high-molecular-weight cellulosic polymer. Provides viscosity and filtration control in water-based drilling fluids, particularly under elevated temperature conditions.
CT-VS-101 – Polymeric Emulsion: Superior-quality anionic high-molecular-weight polyacrylamide emulsion. Designed to boost drilling mud viscosity, and also acts as a viscosifier, shale inhibitor and clay stabilizer.
CT-CMC-HV – High Viscosity CMC: High-viscosity, high-molecular-weight dispersible Carboxy Methyl Cellulose. Adds viscosity and reduces the API filtration rate in water-based drilling fluids.
- Biopolymers & Xanthan-Based Systems
CT-DBP-102 – Drilling Biopolymer: High-molecular-weight biopolymer specially formulated to viscosify water-based drilling and completion fluids. Optimized for cuttings transport and suspension, suitable for freshwater and salt-saturated muds.
XCD-101 – Xanthan Gum Polymer: High-molecular-weight dispersible Xanthan Gum biopolymer used to viscosify water-based drilling and completion fluids, providing strong low-shear-rate viscosity.
- Specialty Viscosifier Extenders & Clays
CT-MMX – Mixed Metal Oxide / Mixed Metal Hydroxide: Mixed metal oxide/hydroxide system based on aluminium and magnesium. Effective as a bentonite extender to help maximize carrying capacity in water-based drilling fluids.
CT-SWC – Salt Water Clay / Attapulgite Clay: Salt water clay that coats the wellbore walls to help prevent leaks and cave-ins, enabling continuous drilling without the need to repeatedly bail cuttings from the bottom of the well.
